I’m working on #25 The Cider House Rules by John Irving but won’t be finished with it until after the new year…I might not finish it as I expect to get some new books for Christmas!

My favorites of the year were Manhunt, Between A Rock and a Hard Place, A Walk In The Woods, Anne of the Island and My Life In France.

3. Have you ever seriously vandalized someone else’s property? Nope.

4. Have you ever hit someone of the opposite sex? Yes, in a playful way though.

5. Have you ever sung in front of a large number of people? Negative, unless wedding dances count

6. What’s the first thing you notice about your preferred sex? Smile

7. What really turns you off? Conceit. Guys who look at themselves in the mirror all the time, talk about how wonderful they are, and never ever have any time to listen to your stories or questions, but all the time in the world for their own.

8. What do you order at Starbucks? I really don’t go there.

9. What is your biggest mistake? I don’t know if I’ve made one that I could classify as the biggest…yes I’ve made plenty of mistakes but they have all turned out for the better in the end.

10. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose? No.

11. Say something totally random about yourself. I really like cold weather and snow.

12. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity? Yep, Julianna Margulies

13. Do you still watch kiddie movies or TV shows? Affirmative

14. Did you have braces? Yes.

15. Are you comfortable with your height? Yes, but I’ve always wanted to be taller.

16. What is the most romantic thing someone of the preferred sex has done for you? Brought me Buckeyes!

23. Can you dance? YES. I LOVE to dance. I don’t know if I’m good at it, but I really don’t care.

THE….

What’s with “THE”?

First of all, it’s pronounced “thee”, not “thuh”.

But, we are often asked, what’s with THE. OK, let’s tell you. Back in 1878, yes 1878, the University was officially designated as The Ohio State University. Before that time, the institution was primarily an agricultural and mechanical college. But the Universities forefathers, in their infinite wisdom, decided that the institution should diversify its educational offerings and become THE flagship University within the State of Ohio. As a matter of fact, in Ohio Law, Section 3335.01, it is stated, and we quote, “the educational institution originally designated as the Ohio agricultural and mechanical college has been known as “The Ohio State University.”

It’s THE home of the largest campus in the United States.

It’s THE home of seven college football National Championships.

It’s THE home of Carmen Ohio and Brutus the Buckeye.

It’s THE home of 102,329 Scarlet and Gray fans on any given Saturday.

It’s THE one. THE only. THE Ohio State University.
